Dougan (19), from Gloucester City Swimming Club entered 3 individual events at the Short Course National Swimming Championships making the B Finals in two and narrowly missing the 3rd, winning huge PBs along the way.
Swimming the 100m Fly on day 1, Dougan saw his PB drop over 1.5 seconds from 56.31 to an impressive 54.93. His 100m Freestyle time dropped from 50.95 to 50.09 in the individual event. Joined by team mates Dan Willis, Daniel Broady and James Cook, Dougan went on to better it by a further .05 seconds in the first leg of the 4 x 100m team relay with a 50m split of 23.63 - another Personal Best for Dougan. The Gloucester City Team finishing in 12th place with an excellent time of 3:26.42.
Dougan’s PB swim of 25.17 in his final event for the meet, the 50m Fly, was enough to take him into the B Final where he finished in 24.64 and 2nd place.
Times from the meet now see Dougan comfortably ranked with in the top 20 British Male swimmers.
