At the recent Western County Championships Gloucester City held at Millfield pool swimmers from the club reached the finals and bettered their entry times.
The boys team consisted of Jake Michaels,Jack Mason,Craig Munden and Jack Bartman.
Swimming in the girls races were Tori Nunn,Holly Whitton,Alice Price,Lucy Robinson and Sally Fitzpatrick.
Also competing in the girls Medley and Freestyle relays were Lucy Hepburn,Ely Seymour and Jenny Wells.
A big well done to Alice Price,Holly Whitton,Jack Mason for reaching the finals and finishing in the top 8 and also to Sally Fitzpatrick for winning a Bronze medal in the breastroke final.
All swimmers were consistently beating their entry times and positions. Highlight of the competition was Holly Whittons 2nd cousin turning up ,Duncan Goodhew(Gold Medal winning swimmer in the 1980 Moscow Olympics )and inviting her for lunch in between her 100m Butterfly heat and final. He gave her lots of good swimming tips but admitted he was never very good at fly!!!!
A big thank you to the club coaches and the parents who supported all the team and arrived early so we could have a space to sit and cheered the swimmers throughout the day. Thank you Andy ,Graham and Bernice!!
