A team of Gloucester City Swimmers travelled to Millfield School over Bank Holiday week to take part in the South West Region Long Course Championships. The district meet is open to swimmers who have achieved qualifying times since last November and Gloucester City had a large representation with 27 swimmers present. It is also a chance to gain National Q T for the swimmers and Alex Matthews managed to do the double and achieved NQT in the 100 and 200 m Butterfly. This is no easy achievement and a real credit to Alex s commitment and dedication in training over the last year. Alex joins fellow swimmers James and Dan Broady ,Sophie Brown,Jamie Cooke,Paul Endacott,Kirsty Hepburn and Liam Lodge in Sheffield in July. Overall Gloucester swimmers qualified for 21 finals throughout the competition and came away with 2 Gold,3 Silver and 6 Bronze.
