GCSC Go the Distance at County Champs

The boys competed in the first session and in the 12 year old boys, Craig Munden secured the first gold medal for GCSC with Jordan Lee also placing 8th.

For the 13 year olds Mikey Stalker finished in 7th place with Tom Claxton in 8th. The 14 year olds saw an agonizingly close race with Jake Michael eventually winning silver, just 0.12 of a second behind 1st place in an excellent time of 9.02.33. Jack Mason placed 5th with Dan Hudson and Sam Gaskins finishing in 11th and 12th respectively. Ben Nunn achieved a comfortable gold in the 15 years age group with an 11 second lead over 2nd place. Liam Lodge won gold in the 16 year old category with Dan Broady securing silver. Tom Grime finished 4th with Tom Howells just behind in 5th place. Alex Matthews finished 4th in the 17 year old category. In the 18 & Overs, GCSC dominated with Dan Willis winning gold, James Broady silver, Mark French Bronze and Mark Howells 5th.

Not to be outdone the GCSC girls were just as impressive. In the 11 year old category Megan Hartery and Ashling Keeble placed 7th and 10th respectfully. Sally Fitzpatrick won bronze in the 13 year olds with Alice Price just 0.14 behind in 4th place and Holly Whitton finishing 9th. For the 14 year olds, Sophie Brown won gold and the Junior County Championship. Georgia Fuller won bronze and Lucy Robinson finished in 5th place. GCSC again dominated in the 15 year olds with Aimee Carter Gold, Imogen Wells Silver, Kirstie Hepburn Bronze and Kerri-Anne Wildman 5th.

An excellent start to the Counties putting GCSC at the top of the Medal table with 6 Gold, 4 Silver, 4 Bronze medals and a Junior County Championship.
