GCSC Level 3 Open Meeting - Congratulations & Thank You

To all the parents who helped either as volunteers or officials for our Level 3 Meet a big thank you, all your help makes things run so much smoother on the day and we received many positive comments about the number of officials and organisers who were there making everything happen. We are also very grateful too for the help and support of visiting officials from other clubs, and for the senior officials who kindly give up their time to help Gloucester City turn this into a well organised event for our children. Finally there are also many unsung hero’s who spend hours and days before and after the event co-ordinating, ordering, fetching and returning things and without their time and effort things would just not run so well.  So THANK YOU everybody.

Gloucester City Swimming Club Represented at European Event.

The LEN European Synchronised Swimming Championships took place at GL1 in Gloucester.

This was a fantastic competition which saw the best Junior Synchronised swimmers from Europe fight to win the title of the European Champions.

It was a great honour for the club that Gloucester City Swimming Club were asked to provide club swimmers to participate in the opening ceremony on the Friday evening as Flag Bearers  for each of the 22 Countries represented at the Championships.

Four swimmers were also chosen to carry the LEN flag on which the referee had to swear an oath to open the Championships.

This was a fabulous opportunity for our club swimmers to participate at such an excellent event.
At the opening ceremony the Gloucester City flag bearer was accompanied by an athlete from the same country as the flag they were carrying.

It goes without saying all the swimmers were exceptionally well  behaved and a credit to the club and were lucky enough to receive tickets to watch the team event later that evening which Russia went on to win.

Well done swimmers and all the clubs Young Volunteers who helped at this event.
